Digital twins

Several weeks ago, I received an email from a company with list of questions that people would like to ask my digital twin… Interesting! So, I went on that website and found my profile being built with my picture and coaching content.
Wow!
Then there was a link – claim your profile and scale, help people get questions answered and something in those lines.
Wow again!
I went back to them and asked when and where did I give any permission to use my identity to create a digital twin… no answer, of course.
I did not claim that profile and I am not using any digital twins, so if we talk, I promise it is old school human communication, at least so far.
Then I spoke with some colleagues and a few of them have received those offers to train AI system with their knowledge, approach and create that digital twin. All of them have kindly declined those offers.
With all the benefits of scale and automation there is a huge danger of having that digital twin owned and controlled by someone else, you never know how else it would be trained and used, so there is a risk of losing not just intellectual property but also identity. So, if I ever will decide to train my own digital twin it will probably live on my desk on a local machine.
Have you considered having a digital twin?
