How to cook a frog?

Probably you have heard of the experiment with putting a frog in the hot water – it will jump out of it. However, if you put it in normal water and start gradually increasing the temperature the frog will be boiled eventually and will not even try to jump out.
Well, personally I have not tried to prove this right or wrong (so all frogs around me are OK, promise), but this gives a very good analogy of how we are adapting to the environment around us.
When we join new team or new environment if it is drastically different from what we are used to, we will notice every small detail and have an opinion of how things are done. As time goes on and we get used to things, unconsciously we will get absorbed by new structure, processes setups and we will stop noticing all nuances, differences and this will become the new normal.
Now the question comes up: is this what we want? How does this align with our own vision and strategy?
So, looks like in order not to get “cooked” like a frog in a slowly boiling water we need to have the vision and constantly consciously align the environment with that vision, and if it does not match – think of the alternative steps.
What do you think?
