From neuroscience to coaching

I read many books on psychology and human behavior before, especially in relation to kids and upbringing. Being a manager in my main job I was introduced to coaching, and I really liked the approach but could not get an answer on the question “how does it work?”. So during pandemic I enrolled into neuroscience course (yes, it was about physics and chemistry of the brain, but I am/was an engineer and it was a really amazing study). While I realized that I am not ready to deep dive into full blown neuroscience education (I am not ready to work with a brain in the lab), I was fascinated by how interconnected everything is and how much we still don’t know.
So the next step was a bit more high level: neuroscience based coaching. There, the coaching approach was connected to what happens in the brain and how to create certain environment to make coaching efficient. For example, popular concept like “growth mindset” was explained with the use of MRI scans of brain reaction on this state of mind, and I find it very powerful.
I completed that training about a year ago, and now was off to practice. I find it very helpful even in my own life: when you understand what’s going on inside your head (even partially) it reduces amount of stress and uncertainty.
This week I started my next training, now on the link between coaching and psychology. Very excited!
