Vacations? Anyone?

Summer is usually a vacation time, isn’t it? How do you decide when to go on vacation?

This year I had an interesting insight: in my mind by default vacation needs to be somehow “deserved”. In reality that means that I pretty much need to be super tired and exhausted to have that vacation “well deserved”. Interestingly for my kids it looks very different: if we have school holidays and an opportunity to go on vacation (budget, PTO days), then why not? That’s how we went to Thailand in April and then to Turkey in May, but nowhere far away in summer actually. And there is no need to be “half-dead” to consider going away and changing the scenery.

I thought that’s a good and more healthy approach: if you can live life now (whatever that would mean to anyone of us), then do it, why we need to “deserve” that right by being very tired? So it is almost like an integration of those “vacations” in the busy duties. And who knows what tomorrow brings.

What do you think?
