What is coaching?

Coaching is a very widely used (and misused at times) term nowadays, so before getting into the weeds I thought it is worth touching on what it actually is from my perspective.
The idea behind is to help someone to get from point A to point B. You may ask “why do you need a coach for this?” Coach can create a safe, confidential, non-judgmental environment where a person can come up and test all sorts of ideas, deep dive into values and motivations behind certain goals and get support and structure in the thinking process. Of course, we can do everything ourselves, but sometimes we just get stuck in the similar thoughts and patterns that can hardly get us to a change: to get different results, we need to do things differently. And let’s be honest: how often do many of us get thinking time focused just on us? Not so often I would guess with our busy lives. So, a coach will support the thinking process, without any judgment, advice or decision-making. As an outcome usually there are a few extra insights, takeaways and new ideas that come in addition to initial request. Coaching can really help someone to be an engineer of their life, IMHO. Having an engineering background I was curious to understand how does it work? So I started my coaching journey from neuroscience...
